Special Open Enrollment 2025 - HMO ONLY
D214 is offering a special Open Enrollment (OE)period to allow HMO Illinois members to switch to the new Blue Advantage HMO plan due to Advocate medical groups leaving the HMO Illinois network. If you are impacted and wish to continue care, you have the option to switch to the new Blue Advantage HMO plan.
During this specials OE you can:
1. Switch to the Blue Advantage HMO Plan:
✔ Keep your current Advocate medical group.
✔ A new Blue Advantage HMO ID card will be issued.
✔ Disregard the letter from BCBSIL instructing you to select a new medical group (No ACTION Required after you complete your enrollment in Benefitsolver).
2. Stay with the HMO Illinois Plan:
✔ Select a new medical group by May 31, 2025.
✔ If you do not take action, BCBSIL will assign a medical group based on your zip code effective July 1, 2025.
✔ Update your group by calling BCBS Customer Service at 800.892.2803 or logging into your Blue Access for Members account.
3. Opt-Out of District Coverage:
✔ Waive coverage.
✔ Enroll in a non-district plan, such as through a spouse or the Marketplace.
