Medical plans are offered through the Schools Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
Medical Plan Eligibility Requirements:
- Employees hired prior to 1/31/2017 are eligible to enroll in any medical plan.
- Employees hired after 1/31/2017 and before 7/1/2020 are limited to the following medical plans until they achieve tenure (ETEA) or three years of service (ETESSA): Aetna Choice POS II $20/30, Aetna Choice POS $20/$35, Aetna HMO $20/$20, NJEHP or Garden State Health Plan (GSHP).
- Employees hired after 7/1/2020 are eligible to enroll in either the NJEHP or the Garden State Health Plan (GSHP).
- Please note: The GSHP only includes providers in New Jersey
